Our ride leader, Brandon, will be camping at Wild Plum Campground Saturday night. There are two campsites reserved, allowing 6 campers each, if you want a spot PLEASE COMMENT BELOW or call the shop to reserve a spot. Camping gear not included.
Sunday the 10th, we will be meeting at Downieville Outfitters (2 hour drive from Chico, .5 hour from the campsite) for a shuttle @ 9:00am and again for a 1:00pm shuttle. Shuttles are $20 for each rider or $35 for 2 shuttles. We have a van reserved at Downieville Outfitters for both shuttles, CONTACT THE SHOP TO RESERVE YOUR SPOT! RIDE: Saturday: We will ride to the top of Mills Peak, catch a cool view from the fire lookout, and enjoy the blissful 3,550ft descent back down to the parking area. https://www.trailforks.com/trails/mills-peak-trail/ Sunday: Be prepared for some of the coolest riding in Northern California. Once we get a shuttle up to Packer Saddle, it is a 5,000 foot descent through fast and forested trails, right back to downtown Downieville. It'll be epic! The ride has very little climbing as you descend 5,000 feet of beautiful trails and scenic backdrops. https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/849154/downieville-classic Both rides would best suit the INTERMEDIATE rider with a few advanced technical sections thrown in. Check out the trail descriptions for more information. A full suspension mountain bike is recommended. Bring your trusty bike, some long sleeves, and gloves, it might be chilly in the morning, along with bike supplies and money for lunch. EAT: There are some awesome restaurants in both Graeagle and Downieville that we can refuel at. Burritos anyone? Demos are availabe at North Rim Adventure Sports Contact the shop for more information. 178 E 2nd St, Chico Phone: (530) 345-2453 Powered by NVRC
