March 10th – Scrambled Legs Love Ride

1/18/2019

Attention: ROADIES!

Our cycling friends from Quincy are coming down the hill to ride in Oroville and have invited all!

Sunday, March 10th  (**Daylight Savings – spring forward**)
10:30 am – Home Depot parking lot, Oroville
11:00 am – bikes roll
74 mi, 3400' climbing, or
47 mi, 1600' climbing
Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/29191444
Bad weather warrants rescheduling... so if in doubt, call John M.

"We've planned a 74 mile route, with about 3400' of elevation. The last 27 miles will be the Table Mountain loop, as some of our group will be training for the Wildflower. We will be starting at the Home Depot parking lot in Oroville, so if anyone wanted to do a shorter ride, they could skip Table Mtn and end up with 47 miles and a modest 1600' of elevation. We're planning to meet at 9:30 and be on the road by 10. I'm guessing we'll have half a dozen or more riders, of varying levels. The pace will likely be casual, depending on who shows up. We will regroup as often as necessary to keep the group together.
Feel free to have anyone who's interested contact me at this address, or call me at 530-249-64 seven seven (cell)."

#Festive500, a Ride Plan.

12/11/2018

Here's an example of a strategic ride plan to achieve Rapha's #festive500.

NVRC will host three rides and utilize the LSD ride on the 30th, for 60% of the mileage needed to meet the goal of 311 miles in eight days. You need to plan your remaining four days or 126 miles to get there... go big or spread it out, it's up to you.

((UPDATE: rides are dependent on weather and the status of the ride leader's cold. :-)  For last minute updates please refer to the ride calendar. Thank you.))

Find others to ride with and make your time on the bike more enjoyable.

Advice: plan flat rides and stay away from climbs... you need miles, not elevation. Flat miles are quicker.

Watch for ride postings and calendar updates. Good luck!
