![]() This ride is paced for a solid workout; 19-22+ mph, double pace line, safety-conscious, law-abiding, riding the Fit 50 course (including Troxel and coming back into town via West Sac / Bidwell Ave). In an attempt to keep the ride as safe as possible and to keep most folks engaged, the only sprint will be on West Sac. Following the sprint, a slow-rolling regroup will take place before turning onto Bidwell Ave. If you get dropped, continue to show up for this ride and improve your tactics. The first one over the finish line isn't always the strongest rider. Ride smart. If you're not sure about riding hard in a group, stay to the back and observe. This is a friendly, fast ride but competitively social. If you're busy chatting, you're not working hard enough. If you get a flat or have a mechanical, kindly maintain your speed, move to the right and announce the issue. The group will regroup at the next safe location – a corner, turnout, or driveway. Members of the group are encouraged to assist with the issue. Come experience this ride and be part of a new offering for Saturday mornings. If the turnout is strong, we'll make this a weekly occurrence. If not, we'll sprinkle this ride throughout the fall and winter months. If mother nature gives us rain, wind, snow or scorching heat... buck up! Nothing cancels this ride.

RIDE: 9:00 a.m. 16.5 miles, ~2,200' climbing and ~2,200' of descent! This is an awesome High Sierra loop with incredible views! Route: https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/1476413/hole-in-the-ground-loop Ride Leader: Brandon Andrews, 920.445.3381 It's time to escape the valley and hit the mountains for some epic riding! We'll meet at the parking area across the highway from Boreal Mountain resort at 8:45 a.m. (directions above) and provide ride details and group instructions before rolling out. This is a fairly straightforward loop with a good amount of climbing which means we will regroup when needed and no one will be left behind. The descents can be technical but fun for the intermediate rider. Be sure to bring a helmet, lots of water, food, sun screen, money and flat-fixing essentials. EAT: TBD we can decide as a group whether to head in to Truckee for some good eats or catch something on the way back to Chico. Lastly, this ride is FREE and we love to see new faces join the group, so round up your friends and bring them along. See you in the mountains! |
